Lead

Lead sheet has been in use as a building material for centuries.  Lead sheet  adorns the roofs of churches, offices, factories, public buildings and homes throughout the UK because of its durability and ease of use.

Lead sheet is a proven, long-life building material.  It is extremely malleable and can be readily dressed to fit the multi-curved contours of many modern building materials, particularly roofing tiles.

To calculate the weight of a piece of BS1178 Lead Sheet, multiply the length in metres by the width in metres and then multiply by the code weight in kg/m2 (shown in the table above).
All theory weights are subject to BS1178 (1982) manufacturing tolerance of +/1 5%.
