Ventilation

Condensation in the roof space can cause severe and costly damage, such as structural weakening by wet or dry rot, damage to internal decor from mould growth and the loss of insulation efficiency. It is not possible to prevent water vapour from inside a building passing through in to the roof completely, however, by installing adequate ventilation a substantial proportion of the moisture-laden air can be removed before condensation forms.

Glidevale Metro Flat Roof Terminals can be installed as passive ventilation stacks or mechanical extract ventilation ducts.
This versatility allows them to be used on both cold and warm roof decks and with the use of a builder's kerb they can be used with fully-supported metal roofing.

UNIVERSAL REFURBISHMENT TRAY VENTILATION
This ventilation is installed from inside the roof space. It suits most rafter spacings and ensures that air flow into the roof space is maintained and not hindered by the insulation.

EAVES VENTILATION
Ventilation openings should be provided on the longer sides of rectangular roofs. They are designed to prevent rain, snow, birds and large insects from entering the eaves space.

FLUSH FITTING SLATE VENTILATION
Slate vents are flush fitting and are suitable for ue with both natural and man-made slates, riven edged and surfaced slates and are also smooth surfaced fibre cement designs.

FLUSH FITTING TILE ROOF VENTILATION
Tile vents are largely manufactured to fit flush with the rest of the roof tiles now that aesthetic appeal is increasingly important in a property. Tile vents are vital to ensure adequate ventilation into the roof void, and can be used with all popular tile manufacturers' interlocking profiles and also double lapped plain tiles in concrete and clay.

RIDGE & HIP VENTILATION
Dry fix ridge systems can be used witha ll common types of ridges, tiles and slates. They are simple and quick to install to any rood pitch with easy ridge alignment and discreet appearance.
