Robert Price Host WPA Workshop Event

Robert Price Builders’ Merchants are delighted to have hosted a recent ‘housebuilding workshop’ event, in conjunction with the WPA (Welsh Procurement Alliance).

The WPA are working towards the launch of a new ‘House Building Framework’ for public sector organisations in Wales. In a bid to further explain the details of this framework, the WPA held a workshop event at Robert Price Newport branch on Tuesday 27th February. In conjunction with the workshop event, Robert Price held a small trade exhibition where specialist branches and key manufacturing partners were available to discuss potential products and innovative solutions to challenges within the new build housing sector.

The WPA workshop was split into three separate sections, focusing on different aspects of the new build housing sector; Clients, Contractors and Consultants. The Clients workshop was designed to gauge the needs of councils and social housing landlords in terms of new housing supply, focusing on client needs, housing expectations and how the framework would allow clients to achieve housing targets.

The afternoon sessions featured the Contractors and Consultants workshops, which gave the WPA an opportunity to sell their framework idea to potential partners who would work alongside them to offer a fast track procurement route for the development of new social housing under the framework.

Dave Pattison, Head of Public Sector at Robert Price; “Having various members of the supply chain in one room was great way for our partner manufacturers to share recent innovation in their chosen product offer. The dialogue at the event enabled us to further understand the challenges faced by clients/ contractors, and in return allowed us to demonstrate the added value the Robert Price Group can deliver, through our branch network and specialist divisions.”
