Robert Price are recruiting a trainee in the combined customer accounts and purchase ledger team at head office branch in Abergavenny. The team provides a key role in our business administration, helping our customer billing and supplier payments run efficiently.

Key responsibilities

  • Answering customer account enquiries about invoices, payments and credit notes, via telephone, email and in-person.
  • Arranging and processing customer account billing & eBilling.
  • Providing copy invoices and statements.
  • Processing and allocating account payments.
  • Payment reconciliation and sales ledger data entry including cash/bank reconciliation.
  • Helping to monitor and manage customer account credit limits.
  • Dealing with supplier queries regarding invoices, payments and credit notes.
  • Supplier invoice matching and purchase ledger data entry.
  • Maintenance and improvement of the account holder database.
  • Processing and administering new account applications.
  • Data entry and reporting.
  • Updating, maintaining and filing accounts documentation (electronic and hardcopy).
  • Processing department post.

Essential skills & experience

  • Excellent numeracy skills with confidence when dealing with numbers, data sets and numerical problems.
  • Excellent IT skills, especially proficiency with formulae in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, for effective communication with customers, colleagues in the team and other colleagues within the business.
  • The ability to grasp new systems quickly and follow the training given in company procedures and instructions accurately, thoroughly and methodically.
